In 1975, after nearly 10 years in the insurance business, Jim Leatzow built his own national insurance agency from the ground up. Leatzow & Associates has continued to operate nationally since that time. 

Jim's specialties and those of his firm over the last 34 years have grown to include the creation of numerous national insurance programs; creation of off-shore insurance and reinsurance facilities; being "given the pen" as a national Managing General Agent for various insurance companies for

the past 23 years; creation and implementation of specialized risk management programs to targeted industries for the last 20 years; managing and adjudicating claims as a national Third Party Claims Administrator for the last 10 years; and serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of a reinsurance company for the last 10 years.

In fact, Jim Leatzow has worn nearly every hat in the insurance industry, on the marketing, underwriting, and claims sides of the business, lending a unique perspective from all levels offers rare insight into every aspect of the insurance business. Jim Leatzow is a frequent speaker to large national trade association meetings and is a guest lecturer at many large universities on such topics as risk management, claim avoidance, Risk Retention Act issues, creative thinking, and improving communications in organizations.
